Rita Alaoui seeks to explore and rethink our relationship with the wild world and to imagine connections with the extraordinary. Fascinated by the power of nature and concerned about a world on the verge of extinction, she focuses her approach on the representation of a dreamlike, sacred and beneficent nature. Initially a painter, Rita Alaoui varied her creative methods, from painting to drawing, photography, installation, video-performance and ceramic works. Her works have been the subject of numerous exhibitions in France and abroad.
