About the Item

An exceptional Art Deco ceramic vase designed by Charles Catteau for the Keramis manufactory in La Louvière, Belgium, created in 1941. Glazed ceramic with enamel and gilt detailing, floral motif in vivid polychrome enamels, enriched with gilded highlights. on a small pedestal and features Catteau’s hallmark. The hand-painted decoration presents stylized blossoms in cobalt blue, emerald green, and gold, set against a cream ground with a deep brown base. The piece is signed KERAMIS with the design number D.2783, and bears the embossed form number 1305. This vase is part of the documented production of Keramis under Charles Catteau’s artistic direction. The wolf stamp and model number match the entries in the Keramis model register, confirming its origin from the 1940s. Rest of a store label from Anvers. Dimensions: Height 35.5 cm (14 in.)
