About the Item
Rectangular decorative ceramic dish from Vallauris in the south of France, signed by Antoine Fazio in the 1960s. Fish decoration with red ochre and green dots around the entire rim. Antoine Fazio worked in Vallauris like many ceramists in the 1960s and 70s, where he had a workshop. His pieces were sold in the L'Oustalet shop, also located in Vallauris. Little is known about this ceramist, but his designs can be found on several decorative and utilitarian pieces, and his aesthetic was quite similar to that of Roger Picault. The artist's signature is present under the dish, as well as the ‘Vallauris’ stamp. This dish can be displayed on a piece of furniture or a wall, but can also be used to serve fruit or any other food. Please note a slight crack visible in the photos, which is only on one side, so the structure of the dish is not compromised.
