Large sized ceramic wall hanging plate by Catalan ceramist Eusebi Diaz Costa circa 1960s.
Exquisitely hand painted and depicting a fish mid swim amongst coral reef.
The plate is signed by the artist.
Eusebi Díaz Costa (1908–1964) was a visionary artist who transformed traditional ceramics from La Bisbal into artistic and decorative objects. Amid a crisis in the sector at the time, he revitalised production methods and adapted to the aesthetic tastes of summer visitors to the Costa Brava.
He was a contemporary of Salvador Dali.
