Expressive studio pottery mug or small vessel, hand-thrown and sculpted with a stylized anthropomorphic face in low relief. The cylindrical body is animated by applied circular eyes, incised brows, a subtle nose, and gently curved, moustache-like markings that give the piece a whimsical yet contemplative character. A softly flared foot anchors the form, while a pulled side handle provides comfortable balance and emphasizes its functional origins.
Finished in a muted celadon-green glaze with natural speckling and warm brown and iron-rich tones pooling around the base and rim, the surface displays attractive kiln effects and firing variations typical of handmade studio ceramics.
