Ceramic vase from the 1920s by French artist Gilbert Méténier. Very original free form for this enameled vase in shades of blue and green. Very fine vintage condition, artist's signature on the underside of the vase (see photos).

Gilbert Metenier
Gilbert Méténier took over his father's company at the start of the 1920's. In June, 1940, however, when German troops arrived, the factory was closed, Méténier destroyed the moulds, leaving the region, perhaps for the South of France.
