About the Item
Rare Art Deco Goldscheider ceramics figurine
The dancer wears a blue-green dance dress cut low in front and at the back with a wide, short skirt with a long, pointed zigzag pattern, her brown hair pinned up with a flower ring and feather headdress. Leaning slightly to the right and looking to the left, she brings her hands together behind her, wearing a long purple scarf with a yellow and rust-red lining.
The figure is based on a black, stepped round base with pearl ribbon decoration.
Designed by WILHELN THOMASCH (1893 - 1964), who was an academic sculptor and ceramic artist, operations manager at Goldscheider Vienna, from 1926 had his own production in Sierndorf.
Thomasch designed this model circa 1924.
