Rare Goldscheider Vienna Art Déco Figurine of the 1920s: Standing young lady in a carnival costume inspired by the Rococo style with delicate straps and a low neckline, long skirt with crosswise patterned ribbons and cloud-like puffs of turquoise fabric with stylised floral decoration around the hips, a tricorn hat turned up high on her dark curly hair, supporting herself at the back with both arms on a column and looking coquettishly to the side. The figure is based on a black, stepped, rounded front base, signed ‘Lorenzl’ on the back of the column Designed by Josef LORENZL (1892 - 1950), one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory in the period of 1920 - 1940. This Model 5486 was created circa 1925.
