About the Item

Depiction of an elegant young lady posing in a long, low-cut light gray wrap dress decorated with red flowers, a large red bow tied at the back, three-quarter sleeves with ruffles, the skirt part puffed out by the wind so that the long slender legs can be seen from the front, a small hat with a bow placed on the side of her pinned-up hair, a folded fan in her right hand, with her left hand on her hip and looking to the side. The figure is based on an oval, black flat plinth, with the artist's signature 'Claire Weiss' on the plinth, behind the figure. Manufactory: Goldscheider Vienna / Austria Technique: hand crafted ceramics, finest hand painting, glossy finish Designer: Claire Weiss /= Klára Herczeg (1906-1997) Sculptor, childhood in Vienna, apprenticeship as a sculptor in the Arsenal foundry in Vienna, 1924-1928 at the Budapest Art School, then studied porcelain sculpture in Berlin, designs for several factories.
