About the Item

"Lapis Lazuli" is one of the teapots from "The Indian Memory" collection designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1987 and now reissued by Alessio Sarri. All pieces in the collection are signed In the mid-1980s Ettore Sottsass met Alessio Sarri-a young ceramist from Sesto Fiorentino-decided to put him to the test by asking him to translate one of his designs from the 1970s into ceramics. The Indian Memory was born from that meeting: six teapots and two fruit bowls with dusty and opaque colors and profiles containing the echo of Indian temples. These ceramics are the point starting point of an experimentation of forms at the limit of technical possibilities, uncertain between architecture, sculpture and landscape. Today Alessio Sarri is in charge of the production of The Indian Memory thanks to his 30 years of experience as a master potter. Dimensions: Height: 20 cm (7.88 in) Width: 20 cm (7.88 in) Depth: 17 cm (6.7 in) Ettore Sottsass Jr. ( 1917 - 2007) was an Italian architect, designer and photographer.
