About the Item
Striking West German art pottery vase by Scheurich, marked '293-42' on the underside. Produced during the golden age of German ceramics from the 1950s through 1970s, when over 100 manufacturers explored experimental glazes, bold shapes, and innovative forms. Scheurich stands among the most collectible makers of this era, alongside Bay Keramik, Ruscha, and Dümler
Breiden.
Crafted in the distinctive engobe technique, the vase features a rich brown glossy glaze transitioning to cream tones, adorned w/ a hand-painted botanical motif in earthy green. The substantial form showcases a flared rim, gracefully curved shoulders, and incised linear details at the neck. The layered glaze work and organic decoration exemplify the artisanal quality that defines collectible West German pottery.
Condition shows wear consistent with age and use, adding authentic character. Beautiful example of Scheurich's engobe artistry from the golden age of German ceramics.
