About the Item
A fine late 19th century blue and white faience tulip vase, attributed to Antoine Montagnon, Nevers. This sculptural multi-spouted vase features a tall central neck surrounded by four smaller spouts, a form inspired by earlier Dutch tulip vases and widely produced in Nevers during the late 19th century revival period.
The vase is richly decorated with hand-painted swan motifs, scrolling foliage, and ornamental borders in blue on a creamy white ground. The painterly style, color palette, and overall execution are characteristic of Montagnon workshop production. The interior displays a hand-painted bow motif and workshop markings, consistent with Nevers faience of this period.
A highly decorative and collectible piece, suitable as a centerpiece or for a colorful flower bouquet.
