About the Item

This striking mid-century ceramic pitcher was produced by the renowned Accolay pottery workshop in Burgundy, France. The piece is finished in a rich turquoise volcanic glaze, distinguished by its layered, mottled surface and horizontal striations, a characteristic feature of Accolay’s post-war studio ceramics. The sculptural form features a gently waisted body, flared foot, and a solid loop handle, combining rustic craftsmanship with a strong modernist presence. The glaze shows beautiful depth and tonal variation, ranging from deep blue-green to lighter turquoise hues, with natural textural nuances that enhance its artisanal quality. The underside is signed “Accolay”, confirming its authenticity. An excellent example of French mid-century studio pottery, suitable both as a functional pitcher and as a sculptural decorative object. Dimensions: Height: 25 cm (9.84 inches) Width: 17 cm (6.69 inches) Condition: Good vintage condition. No chips and no hairline cracks. Free worldwide shipping.
