Beautiful West German ceramic pitcher or vase. Marked '1609/25' on bottom. Regarded as the golden age of ceramics, highly collectable 1950s-1970s Art Pottery is known for experimental and exploratory glazes, shapes, colors, and forms. With over 100 manufacturers at the height of production, some makers such as Bay Keramik, Carstens, Ceramano, Dümler Breiden, ES Keramik, Fohr, Gramann Römhild, Marzi Remy, Otto Keramik, Ruscha, Scheurich, Silberdistel, and Ü-Keramik are quite well known. Distinctive styles range from more traditional Mid-Century, volcanic textured, Fat Lava, and engobe. Wear consistent with age and use.
