About the Item
Mister Bonaventura is an original artwork realized by Luigi Fabris and Sergio Tofano in 1958, and represents one of the most popular comics characters of the first half of 20th century Italy.
Original polychrome ceramics designed and realized in Italy.
Hand-signed and dated on the base in red (L. Fabris). The rubber stamp is also present on the base, near the signature and the date.
Excellent conditions.
Very delicate statuette made in Italy of colored ceramics, realized by the famous Italian sculptor and ceramicist Luigi Fabris.
The artwork was realized by Luigi Fabris (Bassano del Grappa, 1883 - 1952), an Italian sculptor and ceramist. In 1920, the Municipality of Bassano commissioned to him the statue La Musa Scrivente dedicated to the writer Giovanni Vaccari. In Milan, he decided to try producing porcelain. Like other artists of the time (Arturo Martini, Bortolo Sacchi, Guido Cacciapuoti), Fabris worked on artist’s multiples, limited series of small sculptures made by artists in collaboration with artisanal laboratories.
