A striking handcrafted lidded stoneware vessel, likely created in the 1970s–1980s, featuring a richly textured glaze in earthy tones of brown, slate, and ash. This sculptural piece is distinguished by its expressive organic form—looping applied handles and embellishments cascade fluidly over the lid and body, evoking vines or tendrils in motion. The vessel’s ribbed body is subtly incised with abstract linear motifs, adding a layer of visual intrigue.
Signed “Damon” on the underside, suggesting the work of an individual studio potter. Both functional and decorative, this piece bridges the boundary between pottery and sculpture and would make a commanding centerpiece in a wabi-sabi, brutalist, or organic modern interior. Excellent vintage condition with natural patina and minor wear consistent with age and use.
