About the Item

Pair of 19th-century Italian Renaissance Style Majolica portrait chargers  Style of Cantagalli: One dish has two minor 'flea-bite' chips to the back, not very visible from the front. A striking pair of 19th-century Italian Renaissance-style Majolica portrait chargers, influenced by the style of Cantagalli. Each charger measures 9.5 inches in diameter and features elaborate Florentine borders surrounding a 3.5-inch concave center. One charger showcases a female portrait, while the other depicts a male portrait, both executed with exquisite detail and vibrant colors typical of Renaissance majolica. While unmarked, these chargers embody the artistry and craftsmanship characteristic of Cantagalli ceramics. One dish has two minor 'flea-bite' chips on the back, barely noticeable from the front, which do not detract from their overall beauty and historical value. Raised on 2.5-inch-diameter bases, these chargers stand elegantly and are perfect for display in any setting, from traditional to eclectic interiors.
