About the Item
This rare Art Deco trivet/tile, emblazoned with a pale pink pelican that is holding up its fishy prize, was made by the famed Rookwood pottery company in 1921. Rookwood was the largest and most successful art pottery in America for several decades, producing artistic wares from the late 19th century into the 1950s. Best known for its Arts and Crafts pieces in the early 20th century, the company also produced fine Art Deco ware into the 1940s. The trivet is fully marked and dated.
