A small black ceramic figural stirrup vessel from Moche culture circa. 100-500 AD, located in nowadays Northern Coast of Peru. The hollow pot with the stirrup handle was sensitively molded and the surface burnished. The seated figure has his arms folded in front of his chest. He has prominently protruding ears and an expressive face.

This is a very old interesting Chinese stoneware Longquan Celadon bowl or plate with incised decoration, which we date to the Yuan Dynasty, circa 1300.
The bowl is well potted on a low foot.
The bowl is an olive green colour having a celadon glaze with incised decoration to its centre of what looks like a flower stem and additionally three incised string lines to the outer wall. Unglazed parts fire to a terracotta brown colour as with the base section
The piece is unmarked but for similar pieces see the superb book: Chinese Ceramics by He Li published by Thames & Hudson, 1996; pages 164 to 184.

This beautifully decorated and well cared for lustre bowl is one of the few examples still in existence. It was made in Kashan in the 12th-early 13th century, Seljuk- Atabeg period. Kashan was an important center for the production of high quality pottery and tiles. Lustre ware was among the most innovative development of Kashan potters, who mixed silver sulfides and copper oxides to create a shiny copper toned metallic sheen on the surface of glazed earthenware bowls, plates and vessels. It was an expensive and unpredictable lustre technique.

Antique Thai Celadon Stemmed Dish Sukhothai Sawankhalok

A celadon stemmed dish with underglaze deep blue decoration from Sukhothai (a former Kingdom in nowadays central Thailand) circa 14th-16th century. The pedestal dish was a typical ceramic output from Sawankhalok region, likely one of the kilns in Sri Sachanalai that thrived during 14th-15th century. Sukhothai ceramics made a large portion of export from Asia during that period due to the political policy in Ming Dynasty that banned the ocean faring (the so called Ming Gap). This stemmed dish, likely an export item, was modeled in a Classic Chinese form. The under-glaze deep blue decorations depicting the scrolling vines and flowers, as well as the archaic band around the base, are also reminiscent to the designs found in blue and white porcelain in Ming dynasty. The piece shows a fine crackles and age wear on the dish surface, an indication of appropriate patina. This is a very old interesting provincial Chinese stoneware Celadon Jar, probably Longquan, with fluted or ribbed decoration, which we date to the Ming Dynasty, between the 14th and 16th Centuries.
The Jar has an interesting circular baluster shape with an open everted rim and low foot. It has been decorated with moulded vertical flutes or ribs to its lower half. The base is concave and fairly deep.
The Jar has a mossy-olive green colour having a celadon glaze which runs from the base to the upper rim as it would have been glazed upside down, with some glaze around the top section of the inner rim. Unglazed parts fire to a terracotta brown colour at the rim, lower body and the foot rim.
The piece is unmarked but for similar pieces see the superb book: Chinese Ceramics by He Li published by Thames & Hudson, 1996; pages 164 to 184.
