Georgian Coalport Porcelain Coffee Can Hand Gilded Pattern, English circa 1807
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a good quality coffee can that we attribute to the Coalport Porcelain works, Shropshire, England, made during the John Rose period of the George 111rd years, circa 1805-1810. The coffee can is nominally parallel, tapering slightly to the base, with a simple loop handle with one lower kink and pointed attachments. It has a shallow foot recess with obtuse corner and is unmarked to the base. The pattern is beautifully hand painted in an all gold gilt floral upper border pattern with further gilding on the body above the base rim, around the upper rim and to the outer handle. We date this piece to the late George third...

John Ridgway Ironstone Bowl Hand-Painted pattern, William 1Vth Circa 1835
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a highly decorative, ironstone, twin handled circular footed Bowl by John Ridgway, dating to the English William 1Vth period, circa 1835 . The bowl has been carefully hand-painted in bold colorful enamels with a chinoiserie pattern of three oriental people travelling on a boat, pattern number 5057. It is also richly hand gilded. John Ridgway operated at his father’s celebrated Cauldon Place works, Shelton, Hanley, England, between 1830-1856, producing some fine porcelain and stone China of excellent quality. His stone China earthenwares and ironstone wares are discussed on page 305 of Godden's Guide to Ironstone, Stone and Granite Wares written by Geoffrey Godden for the Antique Collectors Club. This piece is fully marked to the base with an Imperial Stone China...

Antique Mochaware Mug Decorated with "Trees"
Located in Katonah, NY
A Mochaware half pint mug molded in an elegant shape with a wide band of burnt orange slip decorated with vertical tree-like dendritic designs. The "trees" rise from a horizontal dendritic design to create a "landscape". Above the scene is a band of contrasting blue slip. Each piece of Mochaware is unique. Here the intricate "tree" design was formed by using small amounts of an acidic liquid and carefully dropping the black liquid onto the alkaline slip prior to firing. The resultant capillary reaction caused the "tree" pattern. Because the patterns are caused by chemical reaction each forms a unique design. Dimensions: 4.5 inches tall x 4.25 inches deep x 3.3 inches diameter at widest point Condition: Excellent with slight toning on the inside and on the bottom of the mug Price: $2100 History Mochaware was first made in England in the late 1700's and continued to be produced in the first half of the 19th century. A great deal of English Mochaware...
