Picart Le Doux dual Birds Orange Footed Vide Poches This item come from the archive of San Vicens, Perpignan and have not been offered since the the mid 60s. They owe their vibrant colors to having been stored since new and never been exposed to UV light. Jean Picart Le Doux was a self-taught painter who began his professional life in bookbinding and publishing. In 1933, he approaches the graphic arts and advertising. He met Jean Lurçat in 1939, they both worked closely with San Vicens and its founder Firmin Bauby and both produced large bodies of work encompassing tiles, plates, lamps and large Freeform pieces, although their ceramic work is often compared for their similar techniques they are  markedly different in style.
