About the Item
A pair of matching sculptural drip glaze stoneware mugs hand-made by artist and ceramicist Ron Korczynski. Barrel like exteriors are ribbed with four bands for a comfortable hand hold, and decorated with browns, purples and blues. Signed underneath with a “K”, and labeled Don Drumm Studio
Gallery.
Ron Korczynski is a native of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Master's Degree in Art Education and taught art in the public school system for 32 years. Ron's early body of work was functional stoneware pottery. He then developed highly decorative and functional low-fire work with elaborate use of color and design on each individual piece. Ron's work has been featured in several books, and articles highlighting his work have appeared in Studio Potter, Pottery Making Illustrated and School Arts Magazine. Many of Ron's creations are included in private collections, museums and galleries nationally and internationally.
