Big Accolay vase with speckled glaze, France 1950-1960
This piece stands out from the atelier Accolay production by its unusual size and shape.
The vase features on each side of the vase two sculpted handles which look almost like wings, giving this piece an almost zoomorphic feel.
Accolay has been widely known for its high quality ceramic glazes and the ability to create different layers resulting in a speckled and stunning cloudy effect.
Signed "Accolay" and A.K 14 on the underside.
Possibly a vase designed by Alexandre Kostanda.
