About the Item

Studio pottery lidded stoneware round box by Warren MacKenzie. Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018), with exhibitions from Walker to Chicago AI to The V&A, over 270 in all, was one of the most important studio potters in American history. This covered box with signature curled handle is in his Shino glaze, a grey celadon. Double signed with entwined WM stamped inside the box black ink underneath. Note the handle curls in to encircle a heart. Very good condition. 7.25" dia., 6" h. We are a family business that has been a major source for the selective buyer for over 90 years.
