About the Item

Silent fire plate by Daniel Nikolovski Dimensions: ø18 x H 3 cm Materials: Glazed ceramic The concept behind this plate is capturing a chemical phenomenon - fire, and freezing it in time. Handmade by roughly sculpting a piece of clay, this object evokes subtle gestures of flames. Glazed in fire-y glossy and opaque glazings, this sculptural plate has many uses such as: plate for serving food, ashtray or simply use it as a storage of personal items. Daniel Nikolovski (1992) is a Macedonian-born interior and furniture designer, currently living and working in Milan, Italy. His work is narrative-driven and is characterised by the use of sculptural geometries, altering proportions, expressed through rich range of materials such as: steel, resin, tortoiseshell acetate, boldly-patterned woods and fabrics used in the fashion industry. An alumni of Istituto Europeo di Design (BA) - Milan and a graduate of the Royal College of Art (MA) - London, some of his past work experiences include: Creative Direction and Design for the furniture brand KABINET, Verona (2019), Set Design for the exhibition Designing Craft / Crafting Design, Vienna (2017), Interior Design for NCDA, Hong Kong (2015). Throughout his career, he has presented his work at Salone del Mobile, FIAC (Paris), Paris Design Week, Offsite Online (NY) and Vienna Design Week. Daniel’s work has been published in Elle Decoration, Marie Claire Maison, AD and The New York Times.
