About the Item

Small ceramic pan signed Robert Picault (1919-2000) France in the 1960s. This is one of Picault's ‘utility’ pieces, which launched his motto: ‘from the kitchen to the table’ with green and brown-red geometric decorations. He created these everyday ceramics alongside his personal artistic production, but they remain just as decorative today. This piece can be placed on a table with olives or small appetiser biscuits, but also on a wall or piece of furniture as decoration. The handle is pierced at the back and underneath, allowing it to be easily hung on a wall by resting it on a nail or screw fixed into the wall. The ceramic is signed underneath with the initials ‘RP’, the signature used for everyday pieces. For his personal work, he signed ‘PICAULT’.
