About the Item
Small vintage bowl from the 1960s in glazed stoneware, Michael Andersen workshop, Bornholm, Denmark. Beautiful glazing work in the centre with a very deep blue colour and iridescent reflections, a real eye-catcher! The rest of the piece is in raw stoneware, with a rough texture that contrasts with the smooth appearance of the centre. The Andersen workshop, located on the famous island of Borholm, was founded in 1890 in Rønne by Jens Michael Andersen (1859-1931). His four sons, all ceramists, worked with him and took over the factory, developing new series. From 1930 onwards, the logo became the same as that of the town of Rønne, namely three small fish.
