About the Item

Ceramic plate designed by the famous Italian artist Bruno Gambone. 1970. Signed on the bottom. Biography Bruno Gambone was born in Vietri sul Mare (Salerno) on 18 October 1936. He briefly approached the world of ceramics, at the age of 14 in the atelier of his father, Guido Gambone. Towards the end of the 1950s, still remaining in the Tuscan capital Florence, he collaborated in the factory of Andrea D'Arienzo. Determined to work and establish himself independently, he also dedicated himself to other artistic experiences such as fabric decoration and painting on canvas. His first exhibition of painting works held in Florence at the La Strozzina Gallery dates back to 1959. In 1962 he moved to the United States, settling in New York for 5 years. Here he frequented artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, gaining numerous experiences in the painting, sculpture, cinema and theater sectors. After five years he returns to Italy. E’ Milan is the city in which he chooses to reside. In the Lombard capital he came into contact with various artists such as Enrico Castellani, Lucio Fontana, Paolo Scheggi, Agostino Bonalumi and Gianni Colombo.
