About the Item

Very Tall, Sculptural Hand Built White Vase. This series of vases was made as an investigation into functional sculpture, not just as ordinary vases but true statement pieces. Echoing the flow of air or the sound of music, these elongated vessels, called "Breathing Tubes" gracefully weave up from a heavy base. Every part of them is irregular, from the unevenly undulating forms to the rim at the top. All hand-built, hand-glazed, each one is unique yet they create a unified feel. They are stunning on their own but even more dramatic in groupings. As such, they are sold separately but I recommend displaying in groupings of 2 or more. Extra photos are included of possible groupings. I can also imagine them in a red glaze with white lilies or branches sprouting from the top. Signed at bottom. Measures: 27 inches tall.
