Excellent Viennese Art Nouveau Item Modelled by Ferdinand Doblinger (1872-1935), circa 1910. Manufactured by 'Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätte' /= Vienna Art Ceramic Workshop Ceramics, bright earthenware, glossy finish, hand painted Made circa 1910 Subject: The blond boy sits sideways on the cock decorated with colorful flower garlands and holds on to its comb and plumage. The group is based on an oval, green and cream-colored painted terraced base. Measures: Height 24.0 cm / 9.44 inches Width 18.0 cm / 7.08 inches Marks: Model number 1098 WKKW - 'Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätte' /= Vienna Art Ceramic Workshop BEE + WKW - WKKW Busch Ludescher, from 1908 Signature: 'Doblinger' - on the top of the base behind the cock WKKW - Wiener kunstkeramische Werkstätte / Vienna Art Ceramic Workshop: Founded in 1899 as 'A. Förster' by Alexander Förster in Vienna. In 1900 a silver medal was awarded at the Paris World Exhibition and from the same year they regularly took part in various trade fairs and exhibitions. The company produced art objects in porcelain, stoneware, faience and bisque. The focus was on art objects for electrical lighting, jardiniering for flowers, clock stands and knick-knacks, A. Förster had his own painter's workshop and 23 artisans. In 1908 'A. Föster' was finally liquidated and taken over by the two former employees Heinrich Ludescher and Robert Busch and founded in the same year as 'Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätten Busch Ludescher'. The WKKW has always been one of the most important and versatile representatives of art ceramics. Condition: Very good.
