WKKW - Wiener kunstkeramische Werkstätte / Vienna Art Ceramic Workshop:
Founded in 1899 as 'A. Förster' by Alexander Förster in Vienna. In 1900 a silver medal was awarded at the Paris World Exhibition and from the same year they regularly took part in various trade fairs and exhibitions. The company produced art objects in porcelain, stoneware, faience and bisque. The focus was on art objects for electrical lighting, jardiniering for flowers, clock stands and knick-knacks, A. Förster had his own painter's workshop and 23 artisans. In 1908 'A. Föster' was finally liquidated and taken over by the two former employees Heinrich
Ludescher and Robert Busch and founded in the same year as 'Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätten Busch
Ludescher'. The WKKW has always been one of the most important and versatile representatives of art ceramics.
