About the Item

Created for Tsar Nicholas II, this clear crystal bowl - overlaid in coloured crystal with a high stem, a scalloped base, and diamond and palm leaf decorations - is spectacular. This exceptional set won over many aristocrats in the Imperial Court and is to this day a reflection of the House of Baccarat's excellence. A refined and highly decorative set of Baccarat Tsar champagne coupe glasses, executed in richly colored, hand-cut crystal. This celebrated Baccarat model is distinguished by its imperial character, deep geometric cutting, and exceptional clarity, representing one of the maison’s most elaborate late-20th-century designs. Each coupe features a vibrant colored crystal bowl layered over clear crystal, meticulously cut to reveal intricate motifs of stylized pinecones, stars, and diamond patterns. The bowls are supported by tall, faceted stems with knop detailing and rest on wide, rosette-cut bases, all cut by hand with remarkable precision. The Tsar pattern exemplifies Baccarat’s mastery of color overlay crystal, where the intensity of the hue contrasts dramatically with the brilliance of the clear crystal beneath. These glasses were produced using traditional techniques and are increasingly sought after by collectors and interior designers. Different colors available. Stamped and signed. Great condition probably never used.
