Fine Vintage Crystal Hogget Decanter on Stand
Mid-20th Century
A fine quality, very heavy cut-crystal hogget decanter, hand-cut with deep diamond decoration and fitted with its original multi-faceted stopper. The rounded base is designed to sit securely in the accompanying wooden stand.
Hogget decanters were traditionally used for passing port around the dining table. Their rounded bases prevent them from being placed down except in the wooden cradle, encouraging the decanter to keep moving from guest to guest.
