Vintage Three Bottle Cut Crystal Tantalus with Silver Plated Mounts
A finely made vintage three-bottle tantalus in polished mahogany, fitted with three heavy cut-crystal decanters with faceted stoppers and silver-plated collars.
Each decanter retains its original chain-hung silver-plated liquor label, engraved BRANDY, WHISKY and PORT, set within decorative cartouches. The bottles are of square form with deep cut decoration, including cross-cut panels and star-cut bases, giving a crisp, architectural appearance and a pleasing weight in the hand.
The mahogany case is well proportioned with shaped ends, a raised plinth base and a hinged locking front, fitted with a butterfly-form escutcheon and original key. The arched carrying handle and corner mounts are silver-plated, providing an attractive contrast against the rich tone of the wood.
