Date: second half of the 18th century
A genuine and fine Imari: blue, red, and gold, English Delft plate. Hand-painted on a white tin-glazed ground with a chinoiserie decoration of roses in a garden. The rim is decorated with an arrangement of flowers four times. The plate was first painted in blue and fired. Then, the red was applied and highlighted with gold, which required a second firing at a lower temperature.
The diameter of the plates is approximately 22,8cm - 9 inches.
The plate is in wonderful condition, with the normal superficial wear and small chips as can be expected for its age.
