Decorative wall plaque from the renowned Henriot faïencerie in Quimper, Brittany, dating to circa 1880. Measuring 20.25 inches wide by 10.5 inches high, this elongated oval plaque is hand-painted with a vibrant Breton folk dance scene, featuring villagers in traditional costume celebrating outdoors to the sound of musicians, while others look on. Above the scene, a finely detailed armorial crest inscribed with “AMAVIE” lends a noble touch, framed by intricate cobalt blue scrollwork on a cream ground with ochre edging. Henriot Quimper, established in the late 17th century, became one of France’s most celebrated faience producers, known for its distinctive regional themes and hand-painted craftsmanship.
