About the Item

Pair of two Dutch Delft blue and white 'Peacock' plate, 18th century, with ochre rim, the centre decorated in cobalt with an vase containing an arrangement of peacock feathers and flowers. The rim decorated with stylized flower heads against a scrolling ground. Marked with a claw for "De Klaauw (the claw)" Manufacture. One plate is in good condition; light chipping and usual wear to the rim. The other one has quite a long hairline crack. It is very nice that these two are born together as a set. They have exactly the same coloring and marks.
