About the Item

18th-Century Delft Plate with Manganese Floral Decoration. Tin-glazed earthenware plate produced in the Netherlands in the 18th century, painted in manganese pigment with a central rose and accompanying foliage. The rim carries a continuous repeating border of schematic tracery. The decoration follows the standard Delft format of a central motif framed by a border. The reverse is plain with tin glaze only and without marks, consistent with unmarked Delft faience of the period. Condition Wear consistent with age and use, including minor surface wear and small rim imperfections
