Date: second half of the 18th century
A genuine blue and white Dutch Delft plate. Hand-painted in cobalt blue and ochre colors on a white tin-glazed ground with the decoration of a bouquet of roses and tulips. The rim is decorated with a scalloped design of leaves. The outer rim has a yellow band to conceal small glaze chips that had already occurred when these kinds of plates came out of the kiln.
The diameter of the plates is approximately 22,8cm - 9 inches.
The plate is in wonderful condition, with the normal superficial wear and small chips as can be expected for its age.
