Bring color and Breton charm to a kitchen, hallway, or dining room with this striking pair of antique faience wall vases, crafted in Brittany circa 1895 by the celebrated Porquier-Beau workshop. Each large wall pocket features a different hand-painted motif: one illustrates a traditional Breton man in vivid folkloric dress, while the other presents an elaborate heraldic coat of arms framed by scrolling acanthus and floral ornament. Both pieces display the signature blue “PB” mark, with one additionally inscribed “Audierne” on the back, referencing the historic coastal town near Quimper. Richly decorated in a palette of blues, yellows, and soft greens, the conical wall vases exhibit the fine modeling, crisp brushwork, and luminous glaze that distinguish Porquier-Beau production at its artistic height. Porquier-Beau (active 1875–1904) represents the most sought-after period of Quimper faience, marked by collaborations with renowned designers such as Alfred Beau, whose folkloric scenes and refined patterns brought national acclaim. Quimper pottery, produced in Brittany since 1778, is treasured worldwide for its hand-painted regional subjects, distinctive palette, and traditional Breton identity, making examples from the Porquier-Beau era especially collectible today. Both vases remain in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with vibrant colors and crisp detail.
