A striking example of 18th century Japanese craftsmanship, this Imari charger is a masterpiece of color, form, and decorative impact. Boldly hand painted with rich cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt accents, it exemplifies the drama and sophistication that define the finest Imari ware. Despite its age, this piece remains in remarkable condition, with only two small hairline marks visible solely on the reverse, virtually undetectable from the front and not detracting from its overall beauty. This is a superb collector’s piece, visually dynamic, technically refined, and among the very best of its kind.
