About the Item
Elegant oval porcelain openwork bowl decorated with cobalt blue glaze and fine gold floral motifs. The strikingly scenic openwork band recalls the decorations of the so-called "pink family" tradition. The bottom bears an apocryphal mark painted in red, seal-style, with the words "Made during the reign of Qianlong" (1735-1796), affixed for decorative purposes. The object is likely a Chinese production from the early decades of the 20th century, intended for the Western market. An ornamental object of great charm, appreciable both in collections and as a piece of furniture in eclectic settings.
