About the Item

Elegant French Porcelain Dinner Service by Hache Pepin Le Halleur, Vierzon – Paris, 1876 A refined and exceedingly rare part of a French porcelain dinner service, marked Hache Pepin Le Halleur – Vierzon / Paris, dating from 1876. This sophisticated ensemble is distinguished by its delicate rose-colored borders and molded neoclassical ornamentation, subtly enriched with hand-painted gilt accents. The service embodies the understated elegance of late 19th-century French tableware, blending the purity of form with a poetic chromatic restraint. Comprising: 1 lidded soup tureen with its original undertray, 2 pedestal fruit stands, 1 sauce boat with fixed stand, 1 small oblong dish, 16 dinner plates, 16 dessert plates, and 3 soup plates. The sculptural quality of the handles and finials — shaped as stylized foliage — reflects the refined craftsmanship of the Vierzon porcelain tradition, a hallmark of French artistry during the Belle Époque. The soft lilac-pink frieze contrasts beautifully with the luminous ivory-white glaze, lending an air of grace and gentility to any table setting. Condition: minor chips on the sauce boat and oblong dish; some plates with hairlines or small losses, consistent with age and use. Overall, a remarkably well-preserved and cohesive service of great decorative presence and historical charm. France, 1876.
