About the Item

Finest white porcelain holster plate made by the famous Meissen manufactory, decorated exclusively with a rich relief pattern known as Neu Brandenstein, introduced around 1744. The border features patterned interlace work with curved and articulated radial reliefs, typical of the German Rococo taste. This type of decoration in white, without paint, was intended for high patronage table services. Visible on the verso is the crossed swords mark in blue underneath the blanket, a badge of Meissen manufacture. Conservation Condition: plate is in excellent condition in the visible part, with no chipping on the top edge or inside. Only on the lower foot are very slight chipping on the support rib. The sound is full and clear, with no "dead marks," confirming the integrity of the ceramic body. Size: diameter 23 cm - height 5.3 cm. Origin: Meissen, Germany, ca. 1750-1780.
