About the Item

Piero Fornasetti porcelain gilt pair of seashell plates, Conchyliorum pattern, Set of six plates, circa 1950s. The pair of very rare plates with a gilt ground are each beautifully decorated with a different large named seashell in black and white. The named seashells are Buccina Tortilla and Buccinum Magnum. Dimensions: 10 1/4 inches diameter x 1 inch high. Mark: Each with the typical paintbrush and hand above Fornasetti. Milano an a seashell with the name of the pattern Conchyliorum below. all-over a green undermark with a crown and H Co. Below a gold 4 over 11. The green under mark for Heinrich Co. Selb Bavaria.
