About the Item
This set of four hand-painted dishes were made by Derby in England late in the 18th century, circa 1790.
The border shows an exquisite wavy orange ribbon that opens and closes while it weaves in and out of a line of golden flowers.
The center of each dish is painted with four delicate orange flowers with stems and leaves of gilt.
The dishes are marked with the Derby crown mark painted in puce. This puce mark was discontinued in 1800.
The images show a close-up of each of the four dishes.
