About the Item

Set of fourteen Spode floral plates. Fourteen softly scalloped and gilt banded plates each with uniquely painted intertwined floral botanical wreathing; from the factory under Josiah Spode working with felspar to produce a more glassy and stronger hard-paste porcelain, less susceptible to chipping. In fact, these plates are in near perfect condition with no chips and just slight wear to the gilt banding. The coloring is vibrant representing 28 different flowers, two on each plate and their description beautifully hand-painted on the reverse. England, c. 1820’s Dimensions: 10” diameter x 1.38” H
