About the Item
This is a splendid set of two deep majolica ceramic plates, hand-painted with charming depictions of a man and a woman, mister and missus, husband and wife. The slight depth of these plates makes them perfect for enjoying salads or pasta.
The plates are in very good condition for vintage items and feature a lovely scalloped border. There are no cracks, though they do show some typical signs of use and indications of the ceramic production process. The plate depicting the missus also shows more craquelure than the one depicting the mister!
