Having tried to recruit glassblowers in Liverpool he was sent to Newgate prison London to reflect upon his sins. He was released on bail and in 1755 and fled the country. Several English glass workers arrived in Norway together with many more from Germany where the "company" had sent other agents. The names of the English glassworkers who migrated togehter with their families to the Hurdal and Nostetangen factories are documented. The factory existed from 1741-1777
Deception and skulduggery in the antique glass industry is sadly still prevalent, espionage is however slightly more glamorous than fraud theft and deception.
