Art Deco Pierre D Avesn Style French Bowl Green Molded Glass

Original and iconic Art Deco style bowl made of green molded glass; its shape is simple and decisive, cleverly proportioned, the result of an intelligent aesthetic reflection; the bowl was produced in France between 1930 and 1935 in the district of Nancy, famous for the high concentration of factories and artisans specialized in working with crystal (Daum, Baccarat, Saint Louis, etc.), was created in the style of Pierre D'Avens. Pierre D'Avesn was an artist who at that time worked at the Daum glassworks, where he developed an innovative technique of molded glass, resulting in pieces of amazing transparency and brilliance like our bowl. Pierre D'Avesn was born in 1901, initially worked at Rene Lalique for 10 years. During this time, he designed Lalique's famous "Serpent" vase and the "Tourbillons" vase, two of the most expensive "Lalique" collectibles. In 1926, he left René Lalique and created his own designs; from 1930 to 1936, he was a valuable and creative collaborator of the Daum Company; he then had his creations produced at the Cristalleries de Saint-Remy and several artisans in the Nancy district. Considered the elite of the last Art Deco glassmakers, he died at the age of 90. Even if we can't attribute it with certainty directly to him, our green bowl is a beautiful testimony of that particular workmanship and fabulous era. Measures diameter cm.30, height cm.9. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
